This year’s edition of gamescom has not only been a success business-wise for the Swiss delegation. Numerous medias from Switzerland and abroad have relayed the presence, activities and successes from the 18 studios attending the event in Cologne last August, making the operation a mediatic highlight for the Swiss game developpers.

National newspapers like Le Temps and Neue Zürcher Zeitung have both talked in extenso (and several times) about SwissGames, as well as 20 Minuten & Aargauer Zeitung. Business oriented newspapers L’Agefi & Startupticker also published about the booming of the Swiss gaming industry while regional medias supported their “local studios” like 24 Heures, La Liberté, La Gruyère & Le Quotidien Jurassien.

French speaking national television RTS dedicated a special page of the evening news broadacast with their radio homologue running stories during their morning  and lunchtime news broadcasts.

The presence of Federal Councillor Alain Berset didn’t go unoticed with a wire from the Swiss agency ATS-Keystone being widely published in the whole country, making the point that the gaming industry’s potential is now fully aknowledged on a political level. German-speaking radio SRF  held a discussion on the support of the gaming industry by the Swiss Confederation in its show Kultur Kompakt.

Last but not least, articles and reviews from the German press are coming in week after week (like these adventure-treff, ntowerZDF pieces), keeping the Swiss gaming industry in the news.
