FUTURE STORYWORLDS: projects announced

Projects for the 3rd edition of NIFFF ON TOUR @CERN: FUTURE STORYWORLDS have been selected.

Here are the 9 projects:

  • «Project Unison: The Memory Collector»Ewa Miendlarzewska, Writer, Carouge
  • «Swing-by»Ian Grünig, Digital Artist, Zürich
  • «Teeth» – Henry Drake, Student in Visual Arts, HEAD, Geneva
  • «Virtual Exoworlds» – Laurence Suhner, Writer, Geneva
  • «Your Child» – Jonathan Moy de Vitry, New Media Videographer, Right Here / Right Now Productions, Geneva
  • «Bat Vision» – Eliane Zihlmann & Raffaele Grosjean, Students in Industrial Design, ZHdK, Zürich
  • «Unmem Plasma» – Elliot Vaucher & Karian Før, Author & Digital Product Designer, Lausanne

In the end, a CHF 3,000 prize will be awarded to the most promising Swiss project. The experts can also grant a Swiss or international project a chance to partake in an intensive on-site development programme from STORYTEK.

FUTURE STORYWORLDS is designed in close collaboration with CineGlobe Film Festival at CERN, the Pro Helvetia Swiss Arts Council, and STORYTEK, Estonian accelerator and innovation centre. It aims for futuristic science-related narratives at the earliest stage of development that must be designed for media such as video games, virtual reality, augmented reality or mixed reality.

Upcoming maintenance work

The application portal myprohelvetia will be updated from 1.1.-7.1.2024. Due to these changes, open applications must be finalized and submitted via the current online portal (myprohelvetia.ch) by the latest 23:59 on 31 December 2023. Until this date, the deadlines and criteria outlined in the current guidelines and calls for applications apply. New applications can be created and submitted in the application portal as of 8 January 2024.
